Malcolm Abbott
Associate Professor Malcolm Abbott (Independent Chair) Previously Associate Professor of Economics, Associate Dean Research, and Head of Accounting, Economics, Finance and Law Academic Group, Swinburne University of Technology. Prof Abbott in the past worked on the development and accreditation of degree programs in private colleges and universities, both in Australia and New Zealand. An economist by profession, his main fields of work are energy markets (natural gas and electricity), pricing and access to network infrastructure by government agencies. He has undertaken related projects on electricity and gas demand forecasting, telecommunications investment, and water management. He has experience working in other areas of government policy including rail, seaports, airports, dairy industry deregulation, stevedoring and education. He has published over 100 referred journal articles and seven books.
Professor John Hall
Prof Hall is an esteemed academic with previous experience from the Department of Marketing in Deakin Business School. Prof Hall’s research, teaching and publication areas are marketing related, including research methodology and analysis, international marketing, non-profit and social marketing, branding, tourism and hospitality marketing, marketing education and consumer behaviour, which have resulted in obtaining two ARC grants and numerous A-level publications. He enjoys teaching students at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level as well as supervising postgraduate and research students. He also has experience in leadership and management, including being a Head of Department and Dean.
Professor Denis Vinen
Associate Professor Denis Vinen has over 40 years experience in higher education and held seniorappointments at Swinburne University of Technology (Melbourne) including Deputy Chair of the Accounting, Economics & Finance department and Program Director of the Master of Accounting suite of programs. Denis is a qualified Chartered Accountant, fellow member of CAANZ and CPA (Aust) and a registered Tax Agent with extensive experience and expertise in providing financial, taxation and investment advice. Denis is a member of education committees for CPA Australia and is actively involved as an author and technical editor for WILEY (publisher) of the CPA taxation and advanced taxation programs. Denis previously managed the professional Accounting Accreditation of Swinburne University Accounting programs and currently advises education institutions who are seeking TEQSA and CPA/CAANZ accreditation of their Accounting courses. Denis’s main research interests are in international business education and in particular, issues related to offshore education programs.
Vikas Wadhwa
Vikas Wadhwa is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Star Gazers Education (SGE) Pty Ltd. With a strong personal commitment to education, Vikas has been involved in international education since 2007. He has led the development of SGE and the long-term strategic goals of the organisation with a strong background in global business expansion and brings a mix of expertise to the Board of Directors of DHE in the areas of operations, risk management, audit and finance from his work experience in the ELICOS and VET sectors. Vikas is a graduate of Information System and Immigration Law and has a distinguished career as an entrepreneur, drawing on extensive knowledge of business development.

Academic Board

DHE’s Board of Directors is responsible for the corporate governance of DHE. The Board of Directors delegates academic governance to the Academic Board.

The Academic Board is responsible for the academic governance of DHE’s higher education operations, determines academic policy and has responsibility for the achievement of educational objectives of DHE’s higher education courses. This includes academic policy making, academic administration and oversight of the educational process including the review, approving development and implementation of courses. The Academic Board is responsible for the maintenance and moderation of academic quality standards.

Professor Denis Vinen

Professor Alexis Esposto
Dean
Professor Esposto is the founding Dean at Danford Higher Education, where he established the Bachelor of Business degrees in Accounting and Digital Marketing. He is an influential economist and linguist with over two decades of experience in economic development, labor economics, cryptocurrencies, government policy consulting, and international engagement, focusing on Australia, Asia, and Latin America. Previously, he taught at Swinburne University and advised Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade on business development. Currently, he's researching ways to promote trade between China and Latin America. Professor Esposto has over 70 publications and is fluent in five European languages.
Dr Steve Bakalis
Dr. Bakalis, who holds a doctorate in computable general equilibrium modeling from La Trobe University, has held academic positions at La Trobe, Melbourne, and Victoria Universities. His expertise lies in international business, diaspora entrepreneurship, higher education internationalization, and transnational management, with significant experience developing and managing transnational education ventures in the Asia Pacific. Notably, he established a School of International Business as its inaugural Dean for Oman's Ministry of Higher Education and currently serves as an Honorary Research Fellow at The Central University of Finance and Economics in Beijing, China.
Professor Tanya McGill
Professor McGill is an Adjunct Professor at Murdoch University and an Adjunct Research Fellow at Curtin University, with over three decades of experience in information technology and international education. An award-winning educator, she's held leadership roles at Murdoch, overseeing the design and delivery of IT courses both domestically and abroad. Her research focuses on information privacy and security, technology adoption, and e-learning, evidenced by over 150 publications and the successful supervision of 21 research students. In 2022, she was elected a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society for her significant contributions to ICT in Australia.
Professor Suzanne O'Keefe
Sue O'Keefe is Professor of Economics and an exceptional educator and leader who has held various leadership positions including Acting Dean, Deputy Dean, and Associate Head, Learning and Teaching in the La Trobe Business School. Sue is a highly accomplished academic and leader in learning and teaching who has played a key role in designing and delivering strategy to foster curriculum innovation, continuous improvement, and review. She has been responsible for many innovations in curriculum and has been acknowledged for her skills in cross campus and blended delivery.
