UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTIFIER (USI)

A USI is a unique individual reference number for your entire student life in Australia. All students studying a higher education degree and graduating in 2023 or after will need a USI to study in Australia. You also need a USI if you are a higher education student seeking Commonwealth financial assistance (e.g. a HECS-HELP loan)

You can obtain a USI at https://www.usi.gov.au/students/get-a-usi.

Once you have received your USI you are required to inform DHE via email to admissions@dhe.edu.au. Failure to update USI with DHE may delay your graduation. Ensure that your personal information such as name, date of birth etc at the USI Registry Office is exactly the same as the one provided to DHE .

If you have undertaken any education training in Australia since 2015, you are likely to already have a USI. If you are unsure, or if you have forgotten, you can find your USI here.
